Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Human Resources will be responsible for managing all aspects of Naveris’ people operations. The Director of HR will have responsibility for supporting employees at our Waltham, MA and Durham, NC laboratory sites as well as remote employees located throughout the United States. This is an on-site role at our headquarters in Waltham, MA with travel as required. This role spans all aspects of human capital management and requires a generalist that is willing to be hands-on in driving the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day human resource operations to ensure that Naveris is an employer of choice in the diagnostics and lab testing industry. The role assesses and anticipates all HR-related needs for the organization.
  • Develop, implement and manage professional development and performance management programs across the Company. Ensure consistent documentation of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for each employee. Oversee annual performance review and feedback process, including related compensation programs. Ensure professional development opportunities for all employees, with special attention to high potential employees.
  • Support recruitment of new employees, including working with hiring managers to draft job descriptions, coordinating candidate sourcing and interview processes, negotiating and closing offer letters, and ensuring efficient employee on-boarding. Works closely with VP, Finance, the CEO and departmental leads to ensure hiring plans are aligned to budgets and actively managing headcount related expenses.
  • Leads the development of employee compensation and benefits program on an annual basis, including evaluation of current program and identification of potential program changes to ensure Naveris remains competitive in the marketplace.
  • Works with the Leadership Team, outside counsel, and other stakeholders to develop, review, refine and implement company HR policies aligned to industry best-practices and to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Works closely with the CEO and other members of the Leadership Team to develop and implement One Team Naveris culture across the organization. Helps define Core Values and is a cultural champion to ensure everyone in the organization lives these Values on a daily basis.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to managers and other leaders in the organization, helping develop their leadership and people management skills. Identifies high potential employees and helps develop them for expanded leadership roles in the organization. Leads annual talent management process to map future organizational needs and develops plans to fill roles with an “internal promotion first” bias.
  • At the direction of the CEO and VP, Finance, leads special projects to build and enhance human capital across the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations for both on-site and remote employees spanning > 10 states in the U.S.

Candidate Profile and Desired Qualifications

Naveris is seeking an experienced HR generalist with 10+ years of successful full-time work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

  • BA or BS is required
  • Experience working in a high-growth, small company/start-up environment is required
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing effective HR strategies and programs that support overall business objectives
  • Successful experience working across various HR disciplines (recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and development, etc.) is highly beneficial
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. SHRM) will help candidates stand out
  • Experience working in healthcare technology, diagnostics or lab testing is beneficial, but not required
  • Ability to be on-site daily at our Waltham, MA headquarters with occasional travel (up to 15%) to our facility in Durham, NC and other domestic locations is required

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law that describes the national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge. All roles at Naveris require compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of HIPAA and acceptance and adherence to all policies and standards at Naveris. Personnel acknowledges they are personally responsible for reporting any suspected violations or abuse and are required to complete HIPAA training when joining the company.
